The goal of the event is to increase awareness of the devastating effects suicide has on our nation and state, and to remember those who have been lost to suicide. The event is sponsored by the Nevada Coalition for Suicide Prevention. “Walk in Memory, Walk for Hope” events will take place in Elko, Hawthorne, Las Vegas, Reno, Winnemucca, Pyramid Lake, Yerington and in Douglas County. The event is held in remembrance of Bobby and Josh Bintner, two brothers, from Delta County, Michigan, who completed suicide 13 years apart. Both brothers battled secretly with depression and felt that they had no other option, but to end their lives.

Prizes for pledge raisers and largest teams. Nearly 1,800 Colorado youth at-risk for suicide have been referred through the program for professional counseling services, thanks to money raised at the event.
