During depression the world disappears. Language itself. One has nothing to say. Nothing. Kristin experienced this misery, yet still managed to touch many lives and even in death continues to help others find help for their depression.
The Kristin Brooks Hope Center was created to help those in crisis find help and hope immediately. The site and her story gives you a raw, personal glimpse into depression, and how it affects those around you. In addition, you will find the only clear, step-by-step path for you to follow out of the darkness. There is hope and you can feel happy again! KBHC Board of Directors

Bob Strom

Bob has witnessed first hand, both in the military, and now as an Elder in his Church, that individuals and families in crisis will often turn to Chaplains and clergy for help. While faith communities provide tremendous support, religious leaders are first to admit they lack the education, training and certification to effectively diagnose and treat underlying issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, and clinical depression, etc. Faith-based communities provide many excellent alcohol and substance abuse services, however, often many addictive disorders result from co-occurring mental health issues, which, if undiagnosed and untreated, adversely impact an individuals' sobriety.

As part of KBHC's mental health fairs and concerts, Bob intends to coordinate with faith-based outreach programs that exist on military bases, college campuses and in communities. This recognizes their role as gateways to health, mental health and other social service systems, where they can provide appropriate referrals, continued support, and ensure capacity for these services.
